The choir's annual summer concert at Queen’s features – as the centrepiece of the first half, in chapel – Jonathan Dove's inspiring The Passing of the Year, a dramatic evocation of summer, setting poetry by William Blake and others. For this performance the choir is joined by the renowned pianist Sholto Kynoch, director of the Oxford Lieder Festival. The second half of the concert takes place in the glorious setting of the Fellows’ Garden at Queen’s, where the choir will sing madrigals, part-songs and close-harmony arrangements while the audience enjoys a glass of wine or a soft drink, included in the ticket price.
